The Class of 2025 has much to be proud of, achieving outstanding results in the Higher School Certificate and continuing St Patrick’s College’s strong tradition of academic excellence across both academic and vocational pathways.
Of the 110 students who completed the HSC in 2025, 33 were recognised as Distinguished Achievers, attaining one or more of the College’s 57 Band 6 and/or E4 results. These top-tier results, reflecting achievement between 90 and 100 per cent in individual subjects, are a testament to the dedication, perseverance and commitment of our students. Particularly noteworthy were five accelerated Year 11 Studies of Religion students who achieved Band 6 results, an exceptional accomplishment at such an early stage of their senior studies.
The College also celebrates eight students who achieved an ATAR above 90. Leading the cohort was Holly Burfitt, who earned the College’s highest ATAR of 98.8. Holly was ranked 20th in the state for PDHPE and recognised as a Premier’s All Rounder, having achieved a Band 6 or E4 result in at least 10 units.
These results reflect strong academic performance across the cohort, with one in three girls achieving an ATAR above 80—an extraordinary outcome for a non-selective college. As a result of the collective success of the Class of 2025, St Patrick’s College improved its overall HSC ranking by more than 30 places, rising from 215 in 2024 to 177 in 2025.
In addition to academic excellence, the Class of 2025 embraced a wide range of vocational and applied learning pathways. VET courses delivered at school through the Diocese of Wollongong RTO saw 31 students complete Certificate III in Business Services and 32 students undertake Certificate II in Hospitality, specialising in Kitchen Operations and Food and Beverage. A further 31 students studied 16 different external VET and School Based Traineeship courses delivered by external RTOs, including Allied Health Assistance, Animal Care, AUSLAN, Automotive Vehicle Body Repair, Baking, Beauty Services, Community Pharmacy, Fitness, Game Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Nursing, Tourism, Travel and Events, Retail Services and Salon Assistance.
These opportunities were made possible through strong partnerships with six external registered training organisations, including NSW Health, One Training, Sydney Design School, Taronga Training Institute, TAFE NSW, and the Australian College of Commerce and Management. Distance education also featured within the cohort, with two students studying Food Technology through Sydney Distance Education High School. Notably, Kaitlyn Annakin was placed third in the course and received an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.
Several students were recognised by their RTOs for exceptional performance. Sophie Hansen-Gunter, Ruby Kaluzyn and Ava Roche were acknowledged for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Performance in EVET Beauty Services with TAFE NSW. Alongside completing VET courses in Business Services and Hospitality at school, these students attended weekly classes at the Campbelltown TAFE campus, developing foundational skills in skin care, makeup and client communication as a pathway into further study in beauty therapy and services.
The College also celebrates the achievements of students undertaking School Based Traineeships. Summer Manivong completed a traineeship with Campbelltown City Council, working one day per week throughout Years 11 and 12. She was recognised as a finalist in My Gateway’s 2024 School Based Trainee of the Year Awards and successfully balanced her HSC studies while completing a Certificate III in Business with Council, a Certificate III in Events with TAFE Digital and a Certificate II in Hospitality at school. Summer is now progressing through the recruitment process to continue her career in local government and community services.
Cora Wilson completed a School Based Traineeship with One Training, achieving a Certificate III in Fitness while working at Fernwood Gym Macarthur throughout Years 11 and 12. In addition to her role as a College leader and elite sportswoman, Cora demonstrated outstanding commitment, professionalism and resilience in balancing her academic, vocational and leadership responsibilities.
The College congratulates the Class of 2025 on their remarkable achievements and extends sincere thanks to the dedicated teachers, support staff, training partners and families who guided and encouraged students throughout their HSC journey. These results reflect the breadth of opportunity, strength of partnerships and shared commitment to excellence within the St Patrick’s College community.
