Our History

St Patrick’s College for Girls Campbelltown Established 1840

More than 185 years strong

In 1840, a determined group of Irish Catholic laypeople laid the foundations of St Patrick’s College Campbelltown, beginning with a tiny schoolhouse and a deep belief in the transformational power of education.

In 1888, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan took up the responsibility to educate and uplift Macarthur’s young people, enriching the school with their wisdom and unwavering commitment to the dignity of every student. Their legacy continues to guide the principles of the compassionate, values-based education that defines St Patrick’s College.

Today, we stand as one of Australia’s oldest Catholic girls’ schools, a College that has shaped generations of women who are strong in character and who engender change well beyond the school gates. Ours is a community built on love of learning and love of neighbour, a place where values are lived, not just taught.

We give thanks for the courage of our founders, the dedication of those who have led and served, and the spirit of every student who has made this College her own.

It is a privilege to share this moment with you.
