Brittany Levett

Class of 2007

Flying Officer, Royal Australian Air Force
Partner in the Defence Industry KPMG Australia

Upon graduating, I joined the Royal Australian Air Force, completing a Bachelor’s degree and three Masters degrees, and found myself deployed to warzones in Iraq and Afghanistan, and peacekeeping zones within the United Arab Emirates. For my service, I was internationally awarded by the United States Military for my leadership and decisive actions during these deployments.

After nearly 14 years of full-time service, I transitioned to the Army Reserves and joined KPMG Australia, where I now work as a Partner in the Defence and Defence Industry Account, based out of Canberra. I am an avid traveller, having been to over 50 countries and, when I am not travelling, you’ll find me exploring our amazing country with my two border collies (Merlot and Pinot) and finding the best hiking grounds and red wine in the regions!

It’s so difficult to choose my fondest memories of the College! The memories that come rushing to me are:

  • How learning was an adventure in Physics labs with Nashy and led to the basketball courts where we aimed to beat her husband’s team from John Therry.
  • Italian with Signora Wynarczyk, whose passion for her heritage remains vivid to me. I am still able to speak enough Italian to get by on European holidays! Grazie mille, Signora!
  • Maths with poor Mr Ashkar who suffered terribly at my inability to do maths in public; and PT with Mr Ashcroft, making physical fitness one of my life’s priorities from a young age.

For me, the College’s legacy in my life has always been to not have “what if’s”. The teachers constantly supported and challenged us to grow into and beyond our adolescent potential. That mentality, instilled from a young age, has certainly been with me during my service in the Air Force and also in the boardrooms as the youngest Defence Partner at KPMG Australia.
