ASAP (Afternoon Study Assistance Program)

This program forms an integral part of supporting student learning at St Patrick’s College. The aim of this program is to support students to achieve their full academic potential.

The ASAP operates on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons with students working with ‘mentors’ to support them with the following:

  • Homework
  • Literacy skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Motivation
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Organisation
  • Time management
  • Exam technique
  • Completion of assessment tasks
  • Particular subjects or a combination of subjects

Language Lifeboat

This program operates at lunchtime, one day per week. The aim of this is to help support the students with their literacy needs.

Students can attend to:
  • Get help with an assessment task
  • To refine their writing skills or
  • Simply to ask a question – any request is catered for.

This is staffed by members of the English faculty.


Maths Help

This program operates at lunchtime, one day per week. The aim of this is to help support the students with their numeracy needs.

Students can attend to:
  • Ask questions
  • Get help with their work and
  • Get help with their assessments
  • As well as complete homework with the support of a Mathematics teacher

This is staffed by members of the Mathematics faculty.


yourtutor (Years 7 to 9)


The online homework centre, yourtutor is available to students in Years 7 to 9 after school hours to connect to expert tutors for live, one to one conversations about homework, assignments and exam preparation. The service provides access to on-demand guidance when students get stuck or would like to discuss a concept or gather feedback after-hours. It also has a ‘skills builder’ which staff at the College can access to track the work of their students.

Enhanced Learning (Years 7 to 12)

This is an online study skills program that is available to ALL students in the College. This is a great resource for students to focus on and manage their study skills.

Topics include areas such as:
  • Home Study Environment
  • Organisation and Filing
  • Time Management Skills
  • Managing Workload
  • Dealing with Distractions
  • Overcoming Procrastination
  • Developing Motivation
  • Goal Setting
  • Lifestyle and Balance
  • Managing Stress

It is a great way for students to address all their study skills issues and concerns and enable them to learn new ways to improve at school. All students have access to the site through SPC Connect .

Learning Enhancement

The Learning Enhancement Centre supports the building of collaborative relationships and improvements in the learning and teaching environment. It exists to support and complement the learning programs within the College and to assist each student to attain her full potential within an inclusive setting. It exists to assist in the empowerment of classroom teachers to meet the educational needs of all students, through the provision of personnel and other support resources.
